I loved this video for a variety of reasons. Among them the fact that it got me up to speed with the new interface of the Final Cut Pro. Also I really liked the presentation as done by a humorous humang being - good job !

The trainer is easy to understand and explains the different areas well. However, it seems he assumes the viewer understands certain aspects already and he skips over some of the simplest commands for switching views, etc. More simplicity please. Otherwise, I enjoy the training and will buy more in the series.

These free videos are well planned and make you want to go further into the tutorial series. I do iMovie and wanted to move up and get some additional features. This shows that Final Cut Pro X can work on many levels and is an easy program to move up to especially with the tutorials. Update - I added Lion yesterday and now the video wont play. Ok, its benn a couple of weeks since you said you were working on getting these tutorials compatible with Lion. When is it going to happen??? Im cutting my star rating until then.

I love it!

If you are not familiar with FCP like me, this app is for you. It is made for users who have no or little expriance in movie editing. I love it!

I cant agree with the reviews that says that this introduction needs to be easier to understand. Im not sure how much easier it could get without overexplaining things. True, it may be slightly over the heads of people who are complete rookies to video editing or people who arent used to complex production tools, but those people should not be using FCP anyway. If you have difficulty understanding this, dont buy FCP. Start off with iMovie and then graduate to FCP if you feel like you actually need the extra power. Before I found this video, I stumbled around in the dark and was becoming one of those people who was regretting the expense of buying Final Cut Pro X, but after watching this, it all made a lot more sense and Im starting to like FCP X more. Im not yet at the level at which Im going to say I love FCP X, but I have much less buyers remorse than I did a few weeks ago and if my first real video project on FCP X goes well, Ill owe a lot of thanks to this video. If you have sound fundamentals in using video editing software, you should find this to be the perfect overview to get you acquainted with FCP X. There might be a spot or two where he goes on longer than he needs to about a certain feature that should be easy to understand, but for the most part you wont have the urge to fast forward through entire segments of the overview. Im signing up for a membership to macprovideo.com now to finish my crash course.

Helped me figure out the main differences between new and old fcp. I still need to watch it a couple times to completely catch on, but next I will watch their free guide on Motion!

This quick overview is a good starting point for learning FCP X and very useful. Found myself confused when X first came out. Thanks to this guide I am now able to be a more effecient editor and makes editing fun. Looking forward to an upate for version 10.1 since a few new features have been introduced. This guide is a little too basic but gets the job done.
